Empty Bowls | Full Souls Description:
On June 27, a simple meal shared among neighbors will serve as a reminder that there are those in our community who will go to bed hungry tonight.

Missoula Food Bank & Community Center is humbled to welcome Stephanie Land, writer, mother, and advocate, as our presenting speaker. Author of the upcoming memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive, Stephanie says of herself, “My passion is giving a voice to the working poor in America. My writing is fueled by my own experiences, of struggling to put myself through college and start a career as a single mother. I aspire to use my stories to expose the reality of what it’s like to pursue the American Dream while being held back at the poverty line.” Stephanie’s works have been featured in notable publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, Vox, and the Guardian.

This evening will feature local music, comments by Land, and a simple meal served in a bowl handcrafted by a local artist. The bowl is yours to keep.
