Stop Human Trafficking in Montana Conference
8:30 AM (America/Denver)
University of Montana
Description:
On May 27, 2016, the Montana Anti-Trafficking Project is collaborating with other organizations to provide a multi-disciplinary conference aimed at raising awareness of human trafficking, how to recognize the signs human trafficking is occurring, and how to respond properly to help stop this crime.

The one-day conference starts with the Montana Red Sand Project (part of a national movement) where participants will gather and spread packets of red sand, having the sand fill cracks, signifying the people falling through the cracks with human trafficking, and serving as a reminder that Montanans must stand up for victims enslaved by their traffickers.

The conference will follow with experts on human trafficking presenting. Special guests include Senator Jon Tester, Montana Attorney General Tim Fox, Missoula Police Detective Guy Baker, and others to be announced.
At the conclusion of the day, the Montana Anti-Trafficking Project will hold its second Run for Freedom, a 5K Run/Walk, as a great community event to close the day.
