Grizzly Hackle First Friday Description:
Rotary Club of Missoula Sunrise, Five Valleys Land Trust and Grizzly Hackle Fly Shop invite the public to attend a First Friday event at Grizzly Hackle on May 6th from 5:00-7:00 to celebrate the winners and all participants in the F. Russell Lockner Essay Contest. Grizzly Hackle will display the essays and will award prizes to the winners. The annual contest is open to Missoula middle school students attending Meadow Hill, C.S. Porter or Washington Middle School and honors the memory of Russ Lockner who passed away in 2014. Russ was an active member of Rotary Club of Missoula Sunrise and was much beloved in the Missoula community. The contest awards one student at each of the three participating middle schools with an Orvis Rod and Reel combo. The grand prize winner will also receive a guided fly fishing trip provided by Grizzly Hackle. Students are asked to write a two to four paragraph essay on why fly fishing is important to them.
