The Department of Communication Studies will hold a public speaking competition to honor the best speeches performed in the Public Speaking courses (COMX 111) during the Spring semester of 2017.

"It is the culmination of a semester worth of work of study where we present the top informative and persuasive public speakers of the semester," says Dr. Betsy Bach, director of Public Speaking. She continues, "most participants have to be convinced to participate because they feel anxious about it, but in the end they are glad to have joined the competition. Also, the ones that do not participate end up wishing they did."
