Missoula Community Theatre presents Les Misérables Description:
Book by Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg, music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer.

Produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Set in 19th century France, this international smash-hit tells the life story of convict Jean Valjean and his life-long struggle for redemption. Relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, Valjean makes his way through France and eventually to the Paris student uprising of 1832. Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Miserables packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. The score overflows with melodies that are already standards, but its powerful affirmation of the human spirit is what has made Les Miserables a popular masterpiece.

How it rates: Known lovingly as "Les Mis", this is a big, gritty story with a luscious score and many well-known songs. It needs time to be told, but is worth every minute. The themes and intensity of this show are not suitable for younger children.
