Era of Megafires

Era of Megafires Description:
Era of Megares is a 70-minute, multi-media presentation hosted by Dr. Paul Hessburg, who has conducted re and landscape ecology research for more than 27 years. The presented material comes in the form of fast-moving, short, topic-based talks interspersed with compelling video vignettes and features the work of wildre photographer, John Marshall. Think Ted X mixed with snappy documentary shorts and compelling photography. The videos are produced by award-winning documentary lm company, North 40 Productions, of Wenatchee, WA.

The presentation is designed to educate audiences across the West so that they may better participate in the conversation and solutions surrounding wildfires.

The Northern Rockies Fire Science Network has partnered with Montana Department of Natural Resources, FireSafe Montana, and the Lolo National Forest to bring the Era of Megafires to Montana. Additional supporters of this event include: Lolo Restoration Committee, Missoula County Fire Protections Association, Lolo National Forest, Climate Smart Missoula, 350 Montana, Great Burn Brewing, W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation, FireSafe Montana, The Nature Conservancy, and Missoula County.

A no-host social will occur before (6-7 pm) and after (8:30-9:30 pm) the presentation (7-8:30 pm).

This presentation will also be in Kalispell April 25, Lincoln April 26, and Seeley Lake April 27.
