SUB/ Annual Design Competition Ramps Up Sewing Skills, Fashion and Design

Selvedge Studio's fashion design competition and fashion show, “Project Selvedge” featuring weekly style challenges, gets ready to serve up style with some sass and a side of sewing supplies!

Starting March 7, 2014 (First Friday) would-be designers- and open to all-showcase their creations in a live event fashion show. The show is critiqued by a panel of Selvedge Studio judges which includes audience consideration by “popular vote.” Together they help choose a winner and a loser for each week of challenges. Contestants have one week to sew wardrobe and show it Friday night for a total of six challenges equaling two months of fashion shows. Design winner receives recognition in addition to fabric and gift certificates toward Elna sewing machines and Betty's Divine, among other prizes to launch their design career. Competition is held at Selvedge Studio, located at 509 S. Higgins Ave. most Fridays in March and April, 2014, starting at 6:30pm, with a $1 admission. Be brave. Be a designer. Be a contestant.
