Unraveling the Tax Mysteries of Solar Improvements
5:30 PM (America/Denver)
The Loft of Missoula
Description:
A commitment to renewable energy also means a commitment to understanding
the complexities of tax credits – a topic Molly Bradford of SBS- Solar
knows how to break down. On Wednesday, April 18, Bradford will present
“Unraveling the Tax Mysteries of Solar, Efficiency and Other Renewable
Improvements” – the third in the Sustainable Business Council’s 2011-2012
Sustainability Shot lecture series. This free event takes place at The
Loft of Missoula, 119 West Main Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with wine
donated by Ten Spoon Winery and Scotty’s Table and hors d'oeuvres; the
lecture begins at 6:00 p.m.

“We'll unveil real-life examples of how to powerfully combine the funding
sources for maximum energy-saving benefit,” Bradford said. This is a
collaboration with Energetechs, another local energy-efficiency company.
While the credits, grants, funding and tax credits all exists on their
own, as far as we know, this is the first and best explanation of how to
really leverage their power in concert with one-another.”

Bradford, a 15-year veteran of local sales and marketing, joined SBS-Solar
in March 2010 as the marketing and development director. SBS-Solar aims to
reduce energy consumption, improve indoor air quality and help buildings
adapt a more sustainable operations model by lowering their carbon
footprint. The company, which was created in 2009, offers energy audits,
solar PV, ground source and other energy efficiency services to clients in
Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.

The SBC’s Sustainability Shot series provides concentrated “shots” of
information about narrow topics to businesses and individuals striving to
become more socially, environmentally and economically sustainable. The
series offers an opportunity for the community to talk with experts and
network with like-minded individuals. Details for the upcoming Shots are
posted on the SBC website, www.sbcmontana.org.

The Sustainable Business Council envisions a network of vibrant local
economies and caring communities that are based on renewable resources and
clean, efficient practices and that lead to a healthy environment,
rewarding employment and a high quality of life.
