The Brink Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming mixed media exhibition "Antediluvian", by Bernadette Vielbig. Concerned with the rapid rate of obsolescence in our contemporary culture, Vielbig questions the amount of our acquisitions, as well as the amount of our waste. 
“Relics of personal communications, interactions, and education from my childhood era had a shelf life of several decades.  Today the newest incantations of those tools have a standard life span of approximately 4 years.” (Vielbig)
Ms. Vielbig earned her BA in studio art from Humboldt State University and an MFA in studio arts from Louisiana State University with a concentration in sculpture. She has taught sculpture, design and drawing for LSU, the University of South Carolina in Columbia, Central Michigan State University and is currently tenured faculty at Spokane Falls Community College. She exhibits nationally and is also a member of the Saranac Art Projects coop gallery in Spokane.
