Alpine Physical Therapy Bike Fitting & Healthy Running
7:00 PM (America/Denver)
REI
Description:
Join physical therapists Leah Versteegen, DPT,MS and Matt Schweitzer, DPT, OCS, CSCS at REI Missoula for an informative presentation on what physical therapists can do help you get more comfortable on your bike and help you minimize risk of developing running related injuries. Most of us have been riding bikes since we were kids. If you have spent enough time in a bike saddle at one point you have likely experienced some ache or pain. A proper bike fit procedure takes into account what your body can do and how your bike is built, then brings the two together to allow you to ride in comfort and reduce chance of injury. Most of all you will enjoy riding again! Running is also a part of life as humans are built to run. Many people enjoy running as a recreational or competitive sport, hobby or just a way to release some stress and get outside. Almost 80% of runners experience some level of running related injury in their life. A Running Analysis performed by a qualified physical therapist combines analysis of your strength, flexibility, stability and running form to determine proper exercises and cueing that can help you prepare your body to run healthy and happy long into life.
