City Club Missoula: Startups Grow New Business Sector in Missoula
11:30 AM (America/Denver)
Holiday Inn Downtown at the Park
Description:
11:30am-1:00pm: How Local Startups are Using Science and Renewables to Grow a New Business Sector in Missoula.

City Club Missoula's upcoming forum will feature two cutting-edge startup companies, each using science to create renewable chemical alternatives - and each doing business right here in Missoula.

Rivertop Renewables is a local company using University of Montana research and technology to manufacture sustainable, biodegradable and non-toxic chemicals from renewable plant sugars. The company is currently undergoing a major expansion, with plans to create 25 full-time, high-quality jobs. President Jere Kolstad will discuss Rivertop's innovative products, the company's current expansion project, and plans for the future.

Blue Marble Biomaterials is a local company using patented technology to produce renewable specialty chemicals by using managed ecosystems of natural bacteria. President James Stephen will introduce the technology behind Blue Marble, talk about the company's expansion, and discuss the mutual benefits to local partnerships and collaborations.

Join City Club Missoula as these local leaders discuss innovation, expansion, and the growth of a new business sector for Missoula.
