In Acadian French, cabanes a patates (potato shacks) are small food carts that serve up poutine, a mix of potatoes, gravy and cheese curds. This evening we'll show you how to make a tasty poutine as we celebrate the squeaky cheese curd. Good Food Store Cheese Monger Jennie Gregory will
explain the chemistry behind the curd, plus present a variety of different curds for you to taste. Plus, Emily Walter, GFS Cooking School Manager, will demonstrate her poutine and a recipe that pays homage to her Midwest heritage - fried cheese curds. Beer & Wine Buyer Matt Fry will share a few recommended beer and wine pairings as well.
