As Africa plays an increasingly important role internationally, countries outside the continent are seeking to increase their involvement in African countries. This trend in transnational influence has deeply affected the countries of the Horn of Africa, which have had varied experiences with external influence. These recent trends in the Horn of Africa will be discussed by Prof. Solomon Gofie, Professor at the University of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Visiting Professor of Political Science at the University of Montana.
