Friends of the Missouri Breaks - Presented by MWA Description:
Join the Montana Wilderness Association's Shining Mountains Chapter as we learn about one of our state’s most breathtaking and remote national monuments from The Friends of the Missouri Breaks: a group that is committed to its protection and preservation. The Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument is a stunning area along a 149-mile stretch of the Missouri River. Rich in ecological and cultural history, the Monument is also a prime destination for outdoor recreational activities, including boating, kayaking, hunting, hiking, and camping. Every year, the Friends organize and oversee volunteer events geared toward protecting and preserving the Monument’s wild features. The Friends also dedicate a portion of their time to educating the public and bringing awareness to the Monument and all it has to offer, believing that every Montanan deserves to know about and visit one of the most beautiful stretches of protected land in the state.
