WHAT: More than 20 Gelande ski jumpers from around the country will be competing this year at Missoula’s Snowbowl Ski Area. Jumpers launch from the take off to clear a 90 foot platform and soar up to 200 feet down the natural hill. The event has a festive atmosphere for the whole family with food, music and front row spectating indoors and outdoors.

COMPETITION:
Five judges will judge the competition who can award from 1 to 10 points. The high and Low scores are eliminated and added to the jumpers distance for the total score of the jump. The judges are looking for a good solid take off and a strong “pop” off the platform, stability in the air and solid landing.
HISTORY: The Snowbowl Cup Gelande Ski Jumping competition dates back to the 1960’s and has been a Missoula premier winter event since. Only two times has the tradition been interrupted due to weather and poor jump conditions.
The Gelande receives a tremendous amount of support from the Missoula community and businesses. Over 95% of the purse is donated by businesses who have donated over 20 years!!
The Hill Record of 204 feet is held by former Missoula resident Rolf Wilson.
The Snowbowl Cup boasts the largest cash purse ($7000-$10,000) on the Gelande tour.

Saturday: No Charge
Sunday: Non-skiers $3, which payer receives a $3 coupon and can be used toward any purchase at Snowbowl Ski Area that day. Payment at gate is cash please.
