Dig In! Relief Printing for Beginners Description:
We will focus on the theme of Metamorphosis both around us in the world and within us as artists.
Using wood, tools, our imagination and hands, we will carve our way into discoveries about who we are, where we are, and what is changing in us and our world. Basic skills such as how to hold and sharpen tools, make marks, amplify the power of black and white, print by hand and press will be covered into this introductory class. You will come away with a clear understanding of how to print at home and at ZACC's community printshop. Materials not included, and estimated at $65 per person. You will be expected to buy and use your own set of carving tools, woodblocks and paper. Materials list given at registration. This class is taught by Claire Emery!
