The DREAM Act, DACA and other Immigration Topics Description:
Montanans for Immigrant Justice (MIJ) invites you to an evening of conversation on the topic of DACA, the DREAM Act, and other current immigration issues. The program will be held on Wednesday, February 21 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Har Shalom, 3035 S Russell St. in Missoula.

Featured on the program will be local DREAM-er, Nereyda Calero sharing her personal story, Rebecca Weston will speak on Montana immigration history and attorney Eduardo Capulong will address the many and complex legal processes and roadblocks to immigration.

We hope you will come with the intention of having open conversation about the DREAM Act which is currently of great importance on both the national and the local stage. There will be a time for everyone present to note their own immigration or indigenous history on a timeline.

Montanans for Immigrant Justice is a group of local activists seeking to challenge xenophobic narratives and state and national immigration policies including recent actions to dismantle DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). We believe that immigrant rights are human rights and use educational forums, local canvassing, phone banking and rallies to educate the community and defend the rights of immigrants.

This event is co-sponsored by Har Shalom and Missoula Rises: Community Conversations, Montana Human Rights Network, SALAM, Jeannette Rankin Peace Center and Emmaus Campus Ministry.
