In a series of four 2-hour sessions, Kate McIvor will teach the basics of great sewing. Using the book "School of Sewing," students will learn about sewing tools, how to use their machines, and how to select fabrics. Each student will make an apron, and in the process learn stay stitching, grading, clipping and notching, understitching, and hemming. "School of Sewing" is a great reference book for beginners, and it includes instructions for many easy projects including a pillowcase, draw-string bag, handbag, and quilted placemats. Classes will be held from 6-8pm on Wednesdays, Feb. 10, 17, 24, & March 2. Fee: $64 supplies (15% discount).
