Dr. George Stanley of the Department of Geosciences at the UM will discuss "Crazy Science, skepticism and the validity of ideas in science" -- just how do scientists know that they are on the right track, how well does the system work to produce incremental progress, how can the public judge if an idea (even if proposed by scientists) is bogus?
